"...Take the Cannoli"

--From "The Godfather" (1972)

As a gal of varied interests, I tend to hop from one hobby to another quite frequently. My flavor of the week as of late has been ...mobster shows! I started my week off watching different documentaries on Netflix, but craving a little more drama, I decided to dabble in some films made for the silver screen.

Currently, I'm making my way through a classic trilogy, "The Godfather".

While I'd seen part 1 in the past, I always tend to catch something new each time I re-watch a film. As a friend pointed out the scene above, I had an incredible laugh as Peter Clemenza keeps his priorities in line, giving his post-assassination instructions to "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli." What a guy for keeping up with his work-life balance! After all, he'd promised to bring home dessert.

The madness of the mafia set aside, we can all relate to having different roles to play in life. While this, and many other scenes in mafia stories are extreme examples, they do a great job of illustrating that nobody is single-faceted.

This week, I may be buried nose-deep in mob films, who knows what is next! Cooking classes? History tours? I'll be sure to write about it.
